Golden bridge, a contemporary manufacture
The Golden Bridge of Ba Na is a contemporary construction. Launched in July 2017, this work is owed to three genius architects: Vu Viet Anh, Nguyen Quang Huu Tuan, and Tran Quang Hung. It will take the construction crews a little less than a year to complete the work. It is in June 2018 that the bridge welcomes these first tourists. At 150 metres long, it rises to an altitude of 1,400 metres.
The construction comes in the form of two hands holding a golden bridge. Both hands are positioned to represent the God of the mountain. The mountain is considered sacred in many parts of Asia. From Japan to the Philippines to China and Vietnam, the mountain has a sacred place in the hearts of Asians. Here, the hands seems to come out from the mountain and directed towards the valley while holding a golden metal walkway.
Gold is not a randomly chosen colour. It has great significance in Asia. Indeed, it represents glory, wisdom, harmony, happiness and culture. This gold thread placed on these giant hands could be interpreted as representing life. Walking on this bridge could then allow us to spiritually achieve happiness, wisdom, and harmony in our daily lives.
